Street Pastors are a group of Christian volunteers from various churches across Swindon. We are not there to preach, but to show the love of The Lord Jesus, in a practical way.
Working independently and with full support from the Local Authority and The Police, we patrol the Town Centre on Friday and Saturday nights between 10pm and 4am.
Swindon started in September 2007, we now have 28 trained Pastors.
We have recently also been involved with The link Centre Fun Fair and also a Carol Service held at Warf Green in the Town Centre.
Street Pastors are there to offer a listening ear, practical help, and a prayerful presence. This can be anything from :
A warm drink for a homeless person.
A pair of flip-
A friendly ear or a shoulder to cry on.
Defuse a potentially violent situation
Assist a vulnerable person to get home

Street Pastors is part of the national
Street Pastors Initiative
which is endorsed by The Home Office and New Scotland Yard.
It has its own web site and can be reached by clicking here.
